Scenarios for Good brings together ten alumni of the Spring 2026 Oxford Scenarios Planning Approach Programme, convened in London and online under the facilitation of Dr Jacqueline Koay, to build a live‑case scenario for the UK Women in Economics Network (WEN). Drawn from three continents and spanning industry, academia and senior leadership, the group applies the intellectual breadth and academic rigour of the OSPA framework to create scenarios and a practical playbook made freely available to support strategic conversations that help shape a better world.

Important note:
A note on using our scenarios
One of the golden rules of the Oxford Scenario Planning Approach (OSPA) is that scenarios should be developed for specific users and purposes, rather than for a generic audience. Our first scenario set was therefore created for the UK Women in Economics Network (UK WEN), responding to the brief to explore Women’s Labour Market Participation in 2050: Health, Societal and Technological Drivers.
Following strong interest in women-centred scenarios (scenarios for women built by women), we have chosen to make this work freely available so that other organisations can use it to stimulate their own strategic conversations. But “plug and play” should not mean “plug and accept”. We encourage users to adapt the scenarios to their own context, purpose and strategic questions before using them. For an excellent short guide to avoiding the pitfalls of publicly available scenarios, we recommend Getting the Most From Publicly Available Scenarios by Trudi Lang and Rafael Ramirez.

“Our scenarios are freely available, but the strategic conversation must be your own.”
Disclaimer: The scenarios presented by Scenarios for Good are created solely to stimulate strategic conversation, challenge assumptions and explore plausible futures. They are illustrative, not predictive, and should not be interpreted as forecasts, investment research, financial advice or recommendations to buy, sell or hold any investment or financial product. No investment or other financial decision should be made in reliance on these scenarios. Users should undertake their own analysis and, where appropriate, seek advice from a suitably qualified professional.
